It's February already?!?!?! Book Log Count

Where did the time go? One month went by so fast. I just can't believe it. My reading pile is growing while I've wasted time goofing off. With that in mind, I have decided to try something new with my two kids. Last year I tracked my book reading progress and (barely) made my goal of 150 books. When I say 150, I mean 150 books that I read, not including those I read to/read with my kids.  That's quite a feat, considering the activities that take up my spare time (Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, Kid's School, My School, etc.). They were actively tracking my progress as the year went on, so I decided to do a little home project to see just how many books they've read in the year. Here's January's progress:
Yep! Isaiah has read 3 books. My books aren't posted to the wall, but I've read 9. Victorya has read a mind-boggling 26!! She whomped and stomped us into the ground! I'm amazed, yet proud of both of them. I'm excited to see what the year brings, yet am afraid I'm going to be searching for a larger wall, lol!

Funny thing, reading an email today of someone who basically stated that they don't believe in resolutions, that instead, they make goals. Seriously made me start thinking. (Thanks, thanks a lot!) I admit I have made resolutions in the past, and failed to achieve them. 2011 was the first year I didn't make a resolution. Why? Let me explain. For the last several years, the only thing I said was "This will be the year I finally find my mother". Funny thing, the year I gave up on my quest was the year I found her. Long story short, I wrote her and received no answer. Wow! Completely blew my mind. Made me question my self worth, and it just wasn't a pretty picture. A wrecking ball at a demolition site was much nicer than my own experience with that situation. So, with that in mind, this year I plan on a different approach. My main goal is to be myself. Why? Because I'm awesome! And I'm worth it, and well, I'll come up with some other reasons, but my mind is simply drawing a blank at the moment. Anyhoo, my goals are as follows:

1. Be myself! (my biggest priority!!!)
2. More Sparkles (I don't really know what this means, but I'm trying to be creative here)
3. Write!
4. Start my book (I'm a dream writer ~ No, I don't write about dreams, I dream about writing, and this is the year I WILL get started, even if I drive myself crazy)
5. Start my wall project. (The idea is stuck in my head, ever growing, and it's not allowed to hang out there anymore!)
6. Keep a log of some kind (Well, technically, it was a blog started in 2011, but we'll see how it pans out ;)
7. Finish "Wreck this Journal" project
8. Read 10 biographies

There might/might not be more...only time will tell. But for now, this is a good starting point. What did you decide on?

Welcome to the Randomness of My Inner Thoughts

Do not be alarmed! It may be a little scary inside my head (trust me, I know!) but I hope you'll find it's worth the poking around. This is my first attempt at a blog, and I'll be adding different things that capture my attention or that I think are worth passing on to you. Thank you for following my path ;)
